When drugs are used to relieve the effects of common airborne particulates, many adverse side effects are possible, and also drug – drug interaction can occur. Drowsiness and rebound congestion are associated with the pharmaceutical mode of treatment of nasal congestion due to particulate like pollen, dust, pet dandruff etc. FILTRX has virtually no side effects due to the non-pharmaceutical method of reducing airborne particles in nasal passages. The simple principle of filtration is often preferable over the pharmaceutical approach.

Exclusion of airborne particulates is practically accomplished by a number of marketed filtering devises. All poses some inherent limitation, however, none are aesthetically pleasing. FILTRX provides a solution for this aspect of filtration. There is a clear need for a devise which could be attached to the nose; be disposable; be cosmetically acceptable; be adaptable to individuals in virtually all ages groups; and, removes low-level airborne particulates both at home and work setting.
